About Me

Hi my name is Danae! A few quick things about me before I get into our journey…

I’m a born and raised Texas girl and I jumped into the start of my 30s in 2017. I love being a doggie mom to our border collie, Righley, and our black lab, Mr. Echo. They just turned 10 but still act like puppies! My glitter addiction makes me super happy and I use it daily. No shame! My incredible husband and I have been together for 12 years and married for 4 this October. He is my other half in more ways then I could ever describe. Here’s a few pics from our wedding day and our doggies!

Our infertility journey began in December of 2015 and is still going. I was diagnosed with a severe case of uterine fibroids and PCOS, accompanied by abnormal bleeding. There are a lot of women who have fibroids and it never affects their life at all. That was not the case for me. Along with bleeding constantly, I was estimated to have between 30 & 40 fibroids of various sizes in the uterine cavity and surrounding muscle. After my first MRI and HSG exams, the technical words they used to describe my situation were, “The uterus is enlarged and essentially replaced by numerous fibroids with both intramural and submucosal components.” aka –> it was a complete and total mess in there.

We were told I would never be able to carry our children and that the only solution was to remove my uterus. We were in complete shock and heartbroken. My husband refused to believe that we had no other options and we went on the hunt for a second, third, and fourth opinion. His determination lead us to the most incredible doctor that has completely changed our lives.

So here we are. Over 2 years later and still going strong. I have been through 3 surgeries, numerous procedures/tests, countless medications, and terrible daily injections I have to give myself (I’m on #89 and still going). I have been to the extreme of every emotion possible in this process but the main thing is that we still have hope.

Hope is the reason I started this blog. After the initial devastating news, my husband found a blog post from a man whos wife was in a similar situation as I was. His post ended with her giving birth to their first child. Their story gave us our hope back that day and I want to give hope to anyone else who is going through this as well. You are not alone!!!

Feel free to ask me any questions!

Danae 🙂
