Embryos?? Yes Please!!

WE HAVE EMBRYOS PEOPLE!! This is not a drill!!! 😄🎉🙏🏼🍾

Every step of this process has been different and more intense than the first time around. This week of growing embryos has kept me on my toes for sure! After the egg retrieval, the mature eggs are quickly fertilized and the growing begins! 🥚 My doctor calls with updates daily, except for day 4 (we will get to that later) because you typically lose some every day so its important to know what’s going on. It keeps you in a strange state of calm knowing that things are progressing even if you hear the number getting smaller.

Here’s a quick recap of what we knew in my last post → They retrieved 34 eggs, 23 of them were mature, and all 23 fertilized with Cliffs special men. Yay! You know how when you are trying to complete a project it always seems to take longer than you anticipated?? IVF can easily be added to that for me. When we made the decision to do IVF last December, I never expected our first go at this would take 5 months… But we are finally getting somewhere!! We are still crawling the whole way but getting there none the less!

I have recovered from my 4th surgery just fine and had a fantastic post op check up. My doctor was so so SO happy with how everything looked after the surgery which made me feel awesome. Operation Baby Litherland.. GO!

I thought I would bring everyone up to speed on where we are currently in the adventure known as Operation Baby Litherland!

There are a few key things that have to happen in order to conceive a child. I am well aware that the no pants dance is what makes that happen but that’s not the part I’m talking about. A woman has to grow an egg then ovulate to release it and that’s when all the mattress time should create your tiny human. Sounds simple right??
